Frequently asked questionsCheck out the answers to some of the most popular questions we are asked at the Main Street Car Wash.
Do I need to wash underneath my car before the MOT test?
While it is not absolutely essential, it is a good idea to do this. As part of the MOT, the examiner looks at the under chassis and if it is covered in mud, it will be very hard to see if all is well. In some cases, cars have actually failed the MOT because the examiner cannot see brake pipes, suspension components, etc. This leads to a re-test fee of £18.50 as well as the added hassle of bringing the car back to the MOT centre for a second time.
The MOT wash costs just £12 for a car/small van, £15 for a medium van and £20 for a large van.
Will the carwash brushes scratch my car’s paintwork?
No! The brushes are actually made of foam and they will not harm the car’s paintwork or glass. We use an electronic system which guarantees a constant level of brush pressure. Of course, we check the brushes regularly to make sure that they are in tiptop condition.
I have a loyalty card. When can I get a free car wash?
Get your loyalty card stamped every time you get your vehicle washed. Once you have six stamps, your next car wash will be free.
